Poor Miss A has been sleeping in a pack-n-play since we moved from Carthage just over three months ago. (Has it really been that long?) Then on Saturday a friend mentioned that someone was having a moving sale and they had a crib with bedding. So I called to see if it was still available. We set up a time for me to come and look at it after Steve came home from work. She gave me a landmark to look for on google maps. Giving directions verbally I've found has been less than helpful, as Sunday's experience proves.
The directions that she gave me said to go all the way to the end of D-Ring, which is a major road, and then make a couple of turns and we should see it. But what happened was that we ended up by the airport and those couple of turns took us in one big circle. (Probably should have clarified which end of D-ring, but she did know that we were coming from Education City) Big E wouldn't go to sleep during quiet time that afternoon because we was excited to go play with the neighbor kids. (Read extra cranky) He fell asleep in the car but woke up even grumpier and cried for a while. Miss A was less than happy to be in the car for so long. Add on top of grumpy kids the fact that we're lost in a big city with crazy drivers, and needless to say Steven and I were a little grumpy ourselves. After a few phone calls we found the compound. But after all the driving around we did and the traffic, we probably could have driven most of the way from Carthage to my parent's house in Broken Arrow. The crib was nice and in very good condition, unlike another one we went to look at. So we bought it from her along with bedding, the mattress, and a toddler bed for Miss A to grow. The husband was so kind and brought it to our villa after dinner since all we have is a small Tiida and he had an suv. He also wanted to help set it up because the didn't have the manual and he couldn't really remember how to do it well enough to tell Steve. In a direct route, we didn't live very far. The way home was awful. There was so much traffic that we waited for 5 or more minutes at a few round abouts. But we made it and now Miss A has something comfortable to sleep in.

Sometimes I think that the street and city names where you live sound like they're from a board game. :D
So glad it was worth it in the end!
